The owners of this club desired a quality, yet inexpensive, casual clubhouse building that integrated well into the desert environment and reflected the uniqueness of St. George's artistic and craft community. This building was intended to serve the golf and social needs of the country club, while providing a strong architectural statement for the community at large. While doing so, it was also necessary to relate to the already well-established architectural character of the area. The building fully satisfied the well-developed vision of the Development Team by utilizing elements already present in their surrounding community and the larger region, and synthesizing them to a higher level of detail and scale than their previous use had achieved. The notion of "craft" permeated the building and local craftspeople brought their talents to many elements.
